Competition 25 - Remake a Game! Brief

We here at TWHL are sick of seeing the same old maps. Instead, we want to see maps from other games! Your task is to recreate a level from any game for Half-Life 1 or Half-Life 2. You can choose any game you want, but you MUST provide at least two screenshots of the game you're recreating, as well as the game's details.

We will be judging how well you establish the original level in the Goldsource or Source engine. We will also be judging how well you 'refresh' the content: think about the Black Mesa modification for Source for an idea of what we mean. The more creative you are, the better!

TWHL Competition Rules and Regulations

• Minimum requirement is a .BSP file that works when run in the console of Half-Life 1.1.1.0 and Steam HL or which works in the latest version of HL2 or CS:S.
• All custom textures should be -wadincluded, or included in the BSP via other means for Source
• You can add your own sound, skies, etc., too, but they have to be included in a Custom Game Format (mini-mod). You may wish to include a Steam-style splash screen if you're making one at all, as at least one of the judges, possibly both, will be using Steam HL
• All entries must be ZIPped. Do not upload just the .BSP file
• For entries over 1MB, just add a link to where you have hosted it on the web, in a .txt file and upload the txt file in a ZIP
• It MUST run without error: no excuses! We will not chase authors
• All maps submitted must include a readme file describing which game it is for. If hosting your map remotely and uploading a link with the form, this readme must be included with the actual map
• If not in mod form, maps must be named in the form compo25_(your username), or at least include your username in some way. To reiterate: Your entry MUST include your username in the name of the bsp or mod, or you will be disqualified. No exceptions.
