Commented 18 years ago2006-01-13 02:45:29 UTC Comment #10450
Well I did like it. I had a few problem with HL so I had to play it in HL:visitors (Config for keyboard not working). But It was a bit bland it needs some coulorful texturing. You did put some detail in the parts that you don't gewt up to which was nice but I think some people might have missed. And it was a bit empty. And the scientist was standing out just being ready to be shot. maybe make a sequesnce of him running from something? 3 star. I know you can do better I have seen it in one of you other maps. Hope you can improve this :)

Commented 18 years ago2006-01-13 21:16:49 UTC Comment #10461
A bit of a blond moment there? (no offense to any blond dudes out there)
Commented 18 years ago2006-01-14 07:24:09 UTC Comment #10462
i Would have used a diffrent concrete texture for the surrports but i couldn't find a simeler texture :(
i am planing on adding a fence to stop people walking on the track and drains and such like in the room in the screenshot.
Also doing some more scripting with that scientist

I found the dead barney at the start a bit strange, he was facing the wall.
Commented 18 years ago2006-01-16 12:40:38 UTC Comment #10489
thats the game AI. Al the fighting nosise at the start is him fighting and dieing.
Commented 18 years ago2006-01-17 10:39:48 UTC Comment #10510
No i meant the one at the very begining, Where you start before you go into that room. And if you dident notice this map (And my map) Were put on planetphillip (under our names of course). I was suprised when I saw both of them put up there.

Ansith, you must have run a map right before you did Killer's.

Sometimes, Half-Life doesn't clean up the dead monster. Probably just a coincidence.

Very nice job, especially for your first "completed" map!

General architecture was great/interesting, save a very few invalid solids that were a small distraction--hit alt-p in hammer to find them, and fix them up! Detail work is excellent and inventive--glowing light socket, wiring etc. Trim drains in front of walls was great.

Texturing and lighting were really well done. Good job!

Gameplay is hard but not to hard, and very fun/interesting/creative. Scripting, weapons placement, and puzzles are great. Excellent!

Bugs/distractions
-If you jump through the glass rather than take the elevateor down to the scientist, weird things happen, like getting stuck there!
-1st elevator setup is strange, and could be greatly improved imo.
-"final" area is nicely done, but the textures of the walls around the Osprey could be improved.

Overall, excellent work, with still some room for improvement.

I'm going 5 on this one for the overall excellent work and great gameplay.

Looking forward to more of your stuff!

5 Stars

:)
I have an update on the way adding some stuff to the large rooms as people said there a little empty.
There will be when it works a script for the scientist when you find him but the AI is going against it :(
I have never got stuck in the window so i`m not sure what you did to do that.
mayby after school i`ll update.

www.planetphillip.com

And it has a shot of the dead barney facing the wall at the start on there

I love the details like the wires on the laptop and where the missing panel is, but the grey crete rooms around the steel cart thing are too bare and seem like youve tried to hide them in darkness. Monster placement is good, not boring as they spawn in. The zombie was weird but i shot it like 20 time in the head then use my crowbar on until it just exploded on the spot (was it scripted to do something?).
Commented 18 years ago2006-01-18 17:40:54 UTC Comment #10544
yes. but scripted not AIscripted so attacking it "should" kill it.

An update, Ill dl and try
Commented 18 years ago2006-01-19 13:23:56 UTC Comment #10555
any of you get it that when you "use" the scientist he gets stuck inside you?
Commented 18 years ago2006-01-20 04:25:56 UTC Comment #10562
Just tested and Its better than the older version :)

I dident get the scientist stuck in me, But I think that zombie is ai scripted or hes on scripts with the non interuptable thing on.
Commented 18 years ago2006-01-22 18:57:45 UTC Comment #10619
... i can`t work that zombie out...
it`s not AI scripted and none of the flags are ticked...

Very nice in nearly every aspect. It felt very original and true to the HL style. It wowed me in terms of overall design. lovely.

I really liked it. However, I did have a few minor issues with it. For one, none of the fence or grate textures are working properly. You can still see all the blue. And that one zombie was behaving weird. I killed it, and it just stood there for about a minute and then died. Might have been a problem with the game, I'm not sure. But overall, its designed very well. Good job.
